Export statistical template results automatically as part of the manifest.
Particularly CSO spill statistics - enabling models to be run maybe weekly with historical data, the statistics exported - spill nr, duration and particularly predicted volume. This data can then be analysed in tools outside of ICMLive. This data would significantly enhance the understanding of CSO spills by adding volume to the normal Event Duration Monitoring

Re-order objects
Can it be possible to re-order objects within an InfoWorks ICM model Group. As objects can get added or superseded over time. So to aid model audits and ease of use, it would be really beneficial to have an option to re-order. Thanks
4 votesThanks for the idea. Have you tried using the different sort options in the tree?

Un-ticking All Objects under ICM Properties and Themes
The "Properties and Themes" provides the option to Display certain model Object Layers (i.e. Node, Conduit, 2D Zone, etc.). It is a very long list of about 50 layers.
It would be helpful if there is an option to Tick (or Un-Tick) all layers at once.

Commit history for scenarios
Commit history for scenarios
Show an extra column in the commit history window to indicate how many scenarios exist in this version of the network. Ideally, there would be a button or column through which you can see the names of the scenarios for this network version.5 votes -
Use tracers for water on mesh elements
Our clients are more and more trying to figure out if damage to a property is caused by water from the public area (which is the responsibility of the client) or from private areas (which is not). When rainfall on mesh can pick up a tracer (eg. from existing objects like infiltration zones or roughness zones) we think we'll be able to better help our clients.

Retain decimal places when copying/pasting grid values
For most numerical values in a model, ICM can hold 8 decimal places. From the grid view, if you copy/paste a single cell value, the full set of decimal values are preserved. However, if you copy multiple cell values at once (e.g. an entire column), only the visible/display decimal places will be retained. For certain fields with combinations of large/small values and units, e.g. area values measured in hectares, or baseflow measured in l/s, basic copying/pasting values can result in a lot of precision being lost.
The work-around for this is to use SQLs to copy/paste/move values around, which ensures…

MULTIPURPOSE 2D ZONE
Often, I have to duplicate multiple zones to attach different attributes, such as level, roughness, infiltration and even mesh size,
It would be so much more efficient to be able to include all these attributes in a single zone type. For example, to select all building polygons and turn them into the SUPER zone; and then apply a roughness, infiltration, mesh size and raise them be say 300mm above the ground model. Utopia?

Spread automatic inserted vertices in Bank Lines equally
The "Update from ground model" provides the option to “Insert vertices on lines to give maximum spacing of x m”. This is very useful for creating Bank Line vertices at small intervals. It would be helpful if those inserted vertices are spread equally over the Bank Line section.
At the moment new vertices are created at the specified interval (e.g. 10m), which often results in new vertices created very close to the existing downstream Cross-section end vertices. This can result in tiny internal triangles during meshing.
Spreading out the inserted vertices at equal distance over the Bank Line will provide…

section view of ground model and 2d mesh
It would be very usefull to be able to generate a section view of both a ground model and a generated 2d mesh. At the moment this is only possible in a flood section after a simulation.
So it should be not too difficult to move this possibility also to a network before simulating.

Graph sum of multiple objects instead of each selected object
While looking at multiple drainage areas in a basin (in my example), results can become hard to read; it would be nice if you could graph multiple objects and have the option to see the summation of the selection instead of each individual item.

Improve database and results files read performance
When opening an ICM network for the first time (i.e. no network files in the local files "Working" folder), the WDS reads through the database file in 4 kB chunks to retrieve the requested version of the network. This read process appears to be limited to a disk "queue depth" of 1 and is therefore very sensitive to drive latency. In a cloud environment, drive latency can be in single digit milliseconds. Therefore, the read process might achieve 400 x 4 kB = 1.6 MB per second. If the database file is large, it can take many minutes for the…

Copying view from one network to another
It would be useful to be able to take the view from one open network (X, Y and Zoom level) and apply it quickly to another network - e.g. to do a quick visual comparison between the two networks.
9 votesInteresting idea. Could I ask you to clarify the visual comparison task; e.g What are you comparing?

Built-in mapping capabilities, like PCSWMM and Civil 3D have
Other software has built-in background mapping capabilities for free, using OpenStreetMaps or Bing satellite/hybrid road maps for georeferenced models. The current capability of supporting WMS servers falls way too short and there are no free options available anymore.
This should have been included ages ago.

As a user i want to see 'failed' simulations within the Results Management Window rather than 'completed' status
When a sim completes as status Incomplete the sim icon changes to red and the Job control window states sim status Incomplete. However, in the Results Management window the sim status is ‘Complete’!
For consistency and user friendliness; Please can you fix to reflect the status Incomplete? This change will make re-running sims so much easier and save end users not having to delve into IDs to work out which sim need investigation.

It will great if we can control the display of the labels in ICM to have a better visualization.
For example : the possiblity of changing the precision in the labels (the decimal number of the value )
