  1. Time varying initial water age profile

As a user it would be great to be able to add a time varying initial water age profile for transfer nodes. This would allow us to assess water age within the distribution network without having to combine models.

  2. Add ability to rename datasets, patterns, queries, etc

    1. Allow the "Change ID" tool to rename datasets, patterns, queries, etc.
    2. Make the "Change ID" window wider or resizeable to fit longer IDs.

Partially completed: “Change ID” window is now resizable. Functionality available from InfoWater Pro 3.5 Update 2. Target release data April 2021

  3. Initial Tank Levels

It would be great to be able to change the initial tank levels without having to create a whole new tank data set or putting a duplicate tank in the current data set. That way, the initial tank level condition can be changed for any given scenario without having to worry about changes in tank geometry across all scenarios. I believe WaterGEMS allows you to do this so it would be great to see this functionality in InfoWater. Perhaps initial tank levels could be placed under the Initial Node Status controls?

  5. Customize ArcGIS Pro ribbon with command center modeling tools

While building and editing models, I want to customize easy access to tools currently burried in the Command Center (e.g. Trace Network, Join/Remove Layer tables, Clear message board, etc.).
ArcGIS Pro lets you customize toolbars, but these commands aren't yet available.

  6. Group InfoWater Pro pumps into a pump station object that aggregates results

As a modeler I want to summarize the behavior of a pump station of multiple pumps using a polygon. This helps me summarize energy usage and total flow without needing to select arbirary upstream or downstream objects. This also helps simplify system schematics and SCADA integration.

  7. Allow InfoWater to export simulation results in CSV format instead of DBF

The option to "Export simulation results for external application" in InfoWater would be more useful if the results were exported as CSV files instead of DBF files. We regularly need to compare the results from multiple model scenarios. Microsoft PowerBI or Excel PowerQuery are great tools for importing and comparing large amounts of data and could streamline this process significantly. However, neither support importing directly from DBF files.

  8. As a planner, I want a single, integrated modelling platform to represent the water supply, sewerage and drainage (1D/2D) system.

Melbourne Water has successfully completed a pilot modelling study using InfoWorks ICM to build a single integrated model to represent the water supply, sewerage and drainage system (including overland flooding) for a proposed redevelopment area (27,000 lots) in Melbourne.

The study explored the capabilities of the software to model the urban water cycle. It has identified some significant advantages to an integrated modelling approach, however there are some key limitations of the software and hardware which limit its future use.

We have published a joint paper that discussed the need and the concept and that can be make available upon…

The ability to use the 'copy sub-theme' functionality from the Properties & Themes dialog to copy sub-themes to Theme objects that are saved in the database tree.

  10. Head Units

In WS Pro it would be useful to be able to set the units for head in m AD. This used to be an option in WS. It can be confusing for people starting in or not familiar with modelling to differentiate between pressure and head and having this option would really help.

  11. Extend flexibility in displaying information associated to HGL profiles

As an InfoWater user I'd like to be able to add more information to my HGL profile, including nodal pressure, pipe diameter, flow, velocity, etc. I'd like see max/min level achieved throughout the simulation and have the ability to quickly add pipes to profile

Add an "Exclude Selection List" option to the "set Area Codes" tool in IW WS Pro so that you can exclude selected links from the area code trace.

  13. Contours and Spot Elevation data for Elevation Extractor in InfoWater Pro

While rasters remain the best way to assign elevations throughout the model, InfoWater also supported other formats using interpolation such as contours and point elevation.
Please add these file types in InfoWater Pro.

  14. Further "Set Area Codes" functionality - InfoWorks WS Pro

2 feature requests for consideration, both relating to the “set area codes” functionality in InfoWorks WS Pro:
    1. The ability to save the “set area code” configuration, whether that be in a model tree group or as a cfg file, so that you don’t have to reset all preferences every time you open the tool
    2. A “pause area code identification” button so that you can make multiple changes to assets without having to wait for the area codes to recalculate after every minor change (and without having to close the set area code window to prevent the recalculation, which…

  15. Evaluate Fireflow Minimum Pressure by Zone

In the drop down menu for the Critical Node Search Range, please add the option to evaluate minimum pressure based on the same zone. Or add an option to consider multiple search areas where the user can select either the entire system and/or by zone and input the minimum pressure for both search areas.

To be frank, this is a non-issue with the Bentley software. The user sets the zone or system as the critical node search area, then sets the desired minimum pressure(s). The FF results list the limiting nodes based on the selected parameter, but will report pressures…

  16. Export InfoSurge results for external application

InfoWater can use the option to "Export simulation results for external application" to export selected results to DBF files. It would be nice to have this work for InfoSurge.

  17. Multi-fireflow in WS Pro

Currently, the available built-in fireflow options in WS Pro run for individual nodes/hydrants as if no hydrant in the system is open. Adding the ability to run multiple hydrants that are opened simultaneously will be very useful.

  18. Add zoom to and map navigation ability in the report tables for InfoWater Pro

I use both Bentley and Innovyze water modeling software and i have noticed that the Bentley software allows you to zoom to elements from the report tables and allows you to pan, click, review properties, etc. while the report table is open. It would be really nice if Innovyze could include a zoom to feature in the report tables (similar to what is already included in the DB editor), and allow the user to pan around in the map and click on elements while the report table is open.

  19. Be able to change the background colour

In InfoWorks the background colour for the GeoPlan is white - it would be beneficial to change this colour to the users choice to make particular features stand-out more clearly in the GeoPlan view

  20. water age - representing re-chlorination station by resetting age to 0 hrs

Depending on the size of the distribution/reticulation system water is often chlorination at the WTP and re-chlorinated at various locations within the network.

There is no way to reset the water age value at a reservoir or node etc. to represent a re-chlorination station. This makes it difficult to get an idea of the age of water in the reticulation since passing the last re-chlorination station.

Can this feature be added to the model?
